Before you say anything, I have to ask where have you been?! I mean we haven’t connected in quite some time ..but I forgive you! LOL All jokes aside the OneDopeWoman.com blog has been more than quiet for these past few months. And there are no excuses.
I just quit.
I did. I quit because there was a huge part of me that felt as if I wasn’t measuring up.
Didn’t seem like the connection between me and you was happening. It felt a little one sided. So before I would do you a disservice by sharing content that never touched your heart I opted to bow out.
I would like to say gracefully, but selfishly is more like it. It was selfish on my part to think for you and it was selfish on my part to assume the role of God in what He assigned me to do.
God asked me to be faithful and He Himself would do the rest. I needed to see “ the rest” in action and when I didn’t...well you know... I tucked my tail between my legs and went off to have a pity party.
I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a place in which you asked yourself “what’s the point? Who really cares? Who’s really listening?” And without consulting God you too exited stage left. You may be in that place now.
What I love about God is that He is not new to pity party’s If He’s seen one, He’s seen them all! (Trust me I’ve had enough for you me and your favorite cousin! Just sayin’!)
But what blows my mind is that He ALWAYS turns those pity party’s into SURPRISE parties!
It’s like I get in a groove of “whoa is me” and The Holy Spirit Himself jumps out and yells “SURPRISE!”
It catches me off guard each time and instead of rejoicing I break out into Deborah Cox’s “How did you get here! Nobody’s supposed to be here!” Like forreal! High pitched! Off Key! A hot mess!
But isn’t it just like God to remind us that each day is filled with grace and mercy . Each day is perfect for a RESTART! Each day was created with you in mind.
Today is the first day that I’ve written in a long time. Today is the first day that I’ve truly worshipped in a long time.
Today is the first day that I’ve felt like God gave the orders, I’m here to carry them out and He’ll make sure that it reaches who He’s ordained it for.
Today #DOPEWoman if you are in the 2nd hour, day, month, year or decade of your pity party consider this your SURPRISE party from the Lord!
Turn you face from the mirror and turn your face to the Lord! In you, you may see defeat . But in Christ you will see a RESTART.
HAPPY RESTART DAY DOPE WOMAN!
Never forget it doesn’t matter how you started not why you stopped what matters is how you RESTART!
